I remember coming into this program as a kid with many issues. I have had many poor decisions in life, and have not been able to control my anger in the past. But now I see that because of that I’ve gotten myself into many things. Like probation for 18 months and expelled from high school.
Fortunately I found help in the program. Not only has it helped me to become a better person that what I used to be but it has taught me to make better decisions in life. Instead of picking up a fight I should just be able to walk away or solve it with words rather then fist. I have learned how to present myself properly. I have learned that there is more to life then what I actually see. Only cause what I see people doing doesn’t mean I have to follow. I have learned to be a leader of my own path and have the ability to say no to those things I know are wrong. I have stopped all my wrong doings. I have learned that the things I used to do would just lead me to a path where I might end up behind bars or possibly under a casket.
Ever since the program started I just thought I would come in and get out. I thought it wouldn’t change me at all but it did. I came in here just looking for counseling because those were my school requirements. I wasn’t willing to change at all. I wasn’t looking for help but I still got it. Ever since I’ve been in the program I have noticed that I smile more. I laugh more often then I usually did. I no longer have those friends who were a bad influence on me. I see myself happy everyday now and appreciate my family, the things I have, and all my surroundings. I’m not scared to act weird and random around people just because they might think its not cool. But being yourself and being real is the most coolest thing ever. I appreciate what god has given me especially what life he gave me. From the moment I opened my eyes and gave my first breath until now and the future. Now I know that I can leave the program and I’ll remain the person that I have transformed to. I came in a boy and I ‘m ready to leave as a young adult male. Ready to do what’s right and ready to meet his goals and succeed in life. As well as praise my lord and savior Jesus Christ for everything. Robert M.
